How can a child get referred to MY Therapy Services?
Children ranging from the age of 3 years old are referred to the District Regional Office to be evaluated to determine if they are suspected to have a disability. During the physical therapist evaluation, we will decide whether a child requires physical therapy services or not. If the patient requires therapy they will be referred to physical therapist with an IEP report which will guide us towards the goals and treatment to be reached.
How long does a child receive physical therapy for?
Most children will receive Physical Therapy services for 10-12 months depending on the prescription of the IEP.
Where does the Physical Therapy sessions take place?
According to the IEP, Physical Therapy sessions can be recommended at school, at the office, at home and also remote depending on the child’s condition. When dealing with severe handicap children who also utilizes other medical devices at home, the IEP will usually recommend an at home session. As it pertains to Minor to moderate cases, patients can be serviced at home, at school or in the office.
How long does Physical Therapy Sessions take?
According to the IEP, sessions can range from 30, 45 or 60 minutes maximum.
